Dynamics 365 Commerce: Assign functionality profiles to self-checkout registers
Organizations can now assign register-specific functionality profiles to self-checkout kiosks to control device settings, transaction codes, receipt numbering, and fiscal defaults. Self-checkout registers no longer inherit store-level profiles by default if a register-specific profile is configured, while staffed registers remain unaffected.
Microsoft's description
This feature lets organizations assign a functionality profile directly to a self-checkout register in Commerce headquarters. The register-specific profile can control device settings, transaction reason codes, receipt numbering, and fiscal defaults for each kiosk. If no profile is selected on the self-checkout register, the register inherits the store's functionality profile. Staffed registers continue to use the store-level profile and ignore self-checkout overrides. If the selected profile isn't available in the channel database, Store Commerce reports a configuration error so administrators can correct the setup. Customer-order capture, deferred payment, credit checks, and expedite settings remain store-scoped. Enable the Retail self-checkout feature in Feature management, configure the profile on the register, and run the relevant Commerce distribution jobs.
