Microsoft Teams will automatically detect and protect against malicious QR codes shared in messages by analyzing embedded destinations for phishing and fraud threats. This security enhancement extends existing URL protection to QR-based attacks with no admin configuration required.

Microsoft Teams will introduce near-real-time detection of malicious QR codes shared in messages. By analyzing destinations embedded in QR codes, Teams can identify potential phishing and fraud threats and apply additional protections to malicious content, extending existing URL protection to QR-based attacks.
