Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection - Sensitivity label grouping modernization
Microsoft Purview's sensitivity label scheme is being simplified to use labels and label groupings instead of parent labels. Admins will need to review and reorganize existing label hierarchies using the new grouping structure for improved usability.

To help improve label usability and configuration, the sensitivity labeling scheme will be simplified to only consist of labels and label groupings. These new label groupings allow admins to better organize and categorize their labels (previously done via parent labels).
