Microsoft Purview: Data Lifecycle Management-Legacy Teams retention policies covering Copilot will be treated as Teams-only
Existing Teams retention policies will be converted to Teams-only policies and will no longer apply to Copilot interactions. Admins must review and create separate retention policies for Copilot workloads if coverage is needed.
Action required: Review existing Teams retention policies and create separate retention policies for Copilot workloads if data lifecycle management coverage is required for Copilot interactions.
Microsoft's description
Some existing retention policies scoped to Microsoft Teams may currently also apply to Microsoft 365 Copilot interactions. As part of an upcoming change, these legacy Teams retention policies will be converted to—and treated as—Teams-only policies. They will no longer implicitly govern Copilot workloads.
